Friends...
Biblical Text: Ecclesiastes 4:9
"Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor.
Read: Proverbs 11:13, 27: 9 -10;17, Mateo 5:44, Luke 6:31, Acts 2: 44-46
Romans 12:15,14:19, 1 Peter 3:8-9
Proverbs 17.-17. "A friend loved at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."
Imagine you are the only person in the world. Try imagining what your life would be like. You wouldn't have no one to talk to, no one to help you when you are in need. Or when you feel depressed, when things don't come out the way you expected. No one to visit you when you are sick. It's easy to see that we need other people to survive. God saw from the beginning that it wasn't good for man to be alone. For this reason he gave Adam company, Eva. Friends are very special, God has given us the opportunity
and capacity to socialize with different type of people. A friend is someone who is
always with us in every aspect of our lives. But the biblical definition of friendship is different. Christian friendships create a more affirmative, stronger bond that wordily friendships because we are aware of a GOD that the world doesn't know. It's more than a traveling "feeling" that comes and goes, it is based on the greatest love in the universe,
the love of God.
How did the first Christians survive? UNITY. The believers of the first church were real friends to each other. They always maintained united and they had most things in common. They gathered day after day, and depended on each other when the difficult day came by, they prayed one for another. Acts 4:23-3 1. Another example can be seen with Peter. Peter never traveled alone he traveled with company his Christians friends.
Which are some of the benefit's of a Christian friendship? Some of these can be:
I. Greater Productivity -Two people m work faster and more productive than one.
When two people work together they join strengths, originality and the quality is always better.
2.Support - When two people are working together and one falls the other is always there to help you, but when you are alone who is there to help you?
3.Consolance - A rule about rock climbing is never to climbing alone because accident's can happen. Having a friend by your side help's us to resolve better a problem.
4.Protection - A friend's always stays near us when danger threatens us. One who travels alone can be defeated, attacked or even assassinated, but when 2 or 3 travel together they can prevent/resist the attacker.
Proverbs 27.17.. ''Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
What virtues are most important in a Christian friend?
I believe one of the most important virtues in a friendship is the loyalty of the friendship. We always expect our friends to keep our secrets, who we can trust and count on. Proverbs I 1: 1 3.. Christian friends are more beneficiary because they are always willing to listen to our problems and they are always on our side no matter what. And they also give us good advice. Christian friends are always willing to lift up your spirits and give you words that encourage you instead of word that will hurt you or put you down. a friend reminds us when we forget. A friend accepts us for who we are, they don't want to change us just help us!! Think of these questions now:I. Why is it good to have good friends?
2.How can we form friendships that please God?
God Bless You
